DOWN 5 INCHES IN 49 DAYS!

My client, “Miss J,” just sent me her latest measurements and my jaw dropped: 5 inches gone from her waist, hips and thighs.

But here's what makes that especially interesting: she wasn't starting from scratch. She already had a dietitian and a personal trainer. She was already strength training and eating mostly whole foods.

So why did she need coaching?  Let me back up.

Miss J had always been naturally thin and never really had to think much about losing weight. Then she had babies, entered her 40s, and her body didn't respond as easily as it used to.

She wanted to lose 10 pounds, especially around her belly, and get back into some of her pre-baby clothes. She told me, “I just need help putting it all together.”

And that really was the problem.

She has 2 young kids, a job, and a husband who travels. She didn't need another extreme diet or more workouts piled onto her schedule. She needed help connecting the dots between what she already knew, what her body needed, and what would actually work in her real life.

So that's what we’ve been working on.

In 49 days, she's down about 6 pounds, her belly is shrinking, and she's seeing more muscle definition. She recently wore a dress to church that she hadn't been able to wear in 3 years!  She’s sleeping better, less stressed, and has fewer cravings.

Her upper waist is down 1.5 inches, her lower waist is down 1.5 inches, her hips are down 1 inch and her thighs are down 1 inch.  That's 5 inches across those four stubborn areas!

And this is why I don't believe the answer for women over 40 is simply “eat less and exercise more.”

Miss J wasn't lazy. She wasn't clueless about nutrition. She wasn't avoiding exercise. She was already doing a lot of things right.

She needed someone to look at the whole picture and help her figure out what needed adjusting.

Because you can know a LOT about nutrition and exercise and still feel completely frustrated when your body doesn't respond the way you want.

If you're doing a lot of things right but still feel like something isn't clicking, maybe you don't need to try harder. Maybe you need help figuring out what to change next.

If that sounds like you, tell me what's been frustrating you. I’d love to hear what's going on.
